Greek Town Casino Hotel Lobby

Greek Town Casino Hotel Lobby

It has always been my habit to observe and critique a hotel lobby on every stay. I try not to stay in the same hotel more than once because I like amusing myself with the different interiors of each. I looked around a bit on the internet deciding on which hotel to stay in on my next vacation. I was amused to come across this picture of Greek Town Casino. I don’t gamble but I would consider visiting them just to enjoy the surroundings. It is definitely out of the ordinary. Very contemporary. Very clean and sharp lines. The soft cloth like background on the walls perfectly contrasted with the strong presentation of the design. The fire is a great accent of something of nature that contrasts the contemporary design of the lobby. The staircase across the top of the reception is unlike any other that I’ve seen in any other hotel. Its glass railings is well synchronized with the glass ceiling.
Just looking at a picture of their lobby makes me wonder what more they’ve got to offer in their rooms and in their casino. Not gambling for me but just looking forward to marvelling in their magnificent interiors.

Modern-day Prometheus

Modern-day Prometheus

Modern-day Prometheus
Greek mythology says that Prometheus stole fire from the gods. The gods got mad at him for bringing it to man as that makes man equal to the gods. Having discovered fire, man survived the wilderness. The image of a family huddling together around a warming stove is the epitome of domestic cosiness and security. The Jotul 373 wood burning stove is purist and functional in its. The stove can stand almost anywhere in the room and thus creates a new living room quality. It has unique precision in the cast iron, and can be operated from all sides. The wood burning stove can also be rotated 360 degrees when it is fitted with a flue outlet at the top and with a turntable. In order to adapt to a variety of different interiors, the basic models of the three stoves in this range can be fitted individually and combined with a variety of leg sets. The stoves can also be fitted with an additional glass front panel that lowers the surface temperature on the front. Another unique and well-conceived feature is the decorative panels for the side windows. The panels protect walls and furniture from direct radiant heat and create evocative shadow figures on the walls. In order to give the experience of true open fire, the wood-burning stove has been designed with large glass sides – giving a direct view on the elementary play of the flames.
This would be perfect for a family living in a contemporary home and refuses to be left behind by time, and yet, want to to keep the tradition on family bonding.

Best of Year Winner, Furniture: Outdoor: Royal Botania — WAVE

The WAVE hammock was designed by Erik Nyberg and Gustav Ström for Royal Botania. It consists of rust-resistant electro-polished stainless steel and perforated fabric (one type for the upper roof and another type for the seating section). It impressively stands on a single point, which gives its unique floating impression.
This hammock speaks for itself. Beauty combined with functionality. The color gives the impression of a wave. It also unites itself to the relaxing color of water. It serves as a shade and the cushioned hammock hanging under it makes an interesting and relaxing space to rest. You’d feel like a baby being cradled to sleep. The design was magnificently executed that a single pole was bent to a perfect position that it is sturdy enough to hold the hammock. Simple, and yet, very interesting. It’s not something you’d see every day. Very modern and contemporary.
